My journey in racing started close to twenty years ago, as a 12 year old boy. I used to head straight for Kempton as soon as the school bell would ring, I’d be haring off towards the train station to travel two stops down the line. At that age I was more interested in collecting autographs and seeing the wide variety of racehorses and colours. It wasn't long before this small interest had become a driving force in my life, any time I could divert my parents towards a racetrack or a route just passing one of the local tracks would be a minor victory. What I now know as the bug for racing was well and truly inside me, from then on, I had become a passenger to the game. I was soon studying form and stats, most of the other kids would have football magazines or comics but there was me sitting with a Racing Post in school. What had started off as a small interest had turned into an obsession, every other sport that had intrigued me had now been brushed aside and racing was my game.
After leaving secondary education I made the decision to study Engineering at University, I was two years into my degree when I realised this isn't what I want to be doing. I wanted to do something I loved and enjoyed; all roads pointed back to racing. While working I dedicated my all my free time to racing, studying breeding lines, form, watching replays and taking notes. Fast Forward six years now and unknown to me at the time but my partners father was racing mad and also an owner of a great string of horses. It wasn't long before I was chewing his ear of about his horses, where they should run and how they should be campaigned. He soon identified my passion and attention to detail; I would come to him with plans written out and ideas ready to reel off. After plenty of success I realised that I'm good at this, Racing is the place for me. Over the last couple of years my confidence has grown, I feel as if I have all the necessary tools to make a successful transition into a career in racing.
My main aim in creating this syndicate is to make horse racing fun, affordable while bringing together a group of passionate racing people. I want to create a group where we talk, laugh and most of all enjoy the journey of racehorse ownership together.
