The Syndicate have decided that Ron will be trained in Lower Beeding by Gary Moore, One of the most successful dual purpose trainers in the country. A family run operation steeped in history. Gary started as a National Hunt jockey with over 200 career wins before trying his hand at training. He took over from his father, Charlie Moore, back in 1993 and has not looked backed since. Winning over 1,100 races over the jumps and over 1,200 races on the flat.
Cisswood stables has been his main base since 2007 after relocating from a home built yard opposite Brighton racecourse. Cisswood stables offer stabling for up to 100 racehorses in a setting of 180 acres of countryside with top quality training facilities. There is a mile long gallop with a three furlong deep sand gallop which allows for a great variation of work for the horses.
Gary isn't the only Moore at Cisswood, he's aided by wife Jayne and offspring Jamie, Josh and Hayley who all are very hands on when it comes to the daily running of the yard. Gary keeps a close eye on his string of horses and often rides out stable star, Goshen. Just like Goshen, Garry is a real character with a wealth of knowledge. He offers a great insight into how to get the best out of a horse and techniques he uses to train.
Gary has had a tremendous amount of success over the years, at local tracks and on the big stage. Many will remember the top class Sire De Grugy, Champion Chase winner, Two time Tingle Creek winner and in total a seven time Grade One winning horse. Ar Mad was another classy performer who won the Grade One Racing Post Henry VIII Novices’ Chase and the Grade 2 Wayward Lad Novices’ Chase. Goshen is the current stable star and just like Sire De Grugy, he posses plenty of ability. Winning two Kingwell Hurdles and the Grade 2 Ascot Hurdle. Away from the big race wins, Gary has continued success at his local tracks. Plumpton, Lingfield and Fontwell have become happy hunting grounds for team Moore.
